Description

NEU is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to nursing sciences in the field of neurosciences. Founded in 1976 as an expression of the professional growth of nurses in neurosurgical settings, it now represents a reference point for disciplinary development, methodological rigor, and innovation in nursing practice applied to neurology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, and psychiatry.

As the official journal of the National Association of Neuroscience Nurses (ANIN), NEU publishes original contributions submitted to a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring scientific quality, methodological soundness, and editorial independence. The journal particularly welcomes original research studies, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical practice articles, educational contributions, innovative projects, and field experiences, with the aim of supporting clinical practice, promoting professional education, and fostering the dissemination of evidence-based nursing care.

The journal is addressed to nurses, healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and stakeholders involved in the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and nursing management of neurological and neurosurgical conditions. A distinctive feature of NEU is the strong involvement of professionals active in clinical and research settings, encouraging the exchange of expertise, the adoption of best practices, and the improvement of health outcomes.

All manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of their scientific merit, consistency with the journal’s mission, and contribution to the advancement of nursing knowledge in the neurosciences. NEU also promotes interdisciplinary collaboration while maintaining a clear and independent nursing perspective within the national and international neuroscientific community.
